This is a USED Glock Model 22 Gen4 40 S&W Semi-Auto Pistol with x1 15 round Magazine & Trijicon metal night sights (look to be pretty dead). NOTE: This one has the magazine release reversed, meaning the mag release button is set up for “lefties,” so it’s on the right side of the trigger guard (these are reversible and the mag will work with either setup).
Looks to be shot some from the looks of the breach face yet has minimal barrel wear. Overall I’d give this one about a 90-95% cosmetic condition making it look a little worse in the pics than it actually is in hand. The Gen. 4 Glocks have better stippling (grip texturing) over the older Gen’s 3, 2 and 1. The slide’s finish is pretty good but does have some obvious holster wear.
This 40 S&W Glock is a used PD trade-in firearm. We received it “as is” and that’s how it is listed. This pistol overall has seen some use, but feels great overall, decently broken in and is still very mechanically fit with a smooth, solid action. We have not shot it but dry firing it is classic Glock “half-action” striker fired 5.5 lb. trigger pull, maybe a bit warn in better than any new Glock. Otherwise this feels like a basic Glock, as trustworthy as any and reliable like always. Removing the slide from the frame, all looks good and reassembly is Glock standard easy. There is some wear, scrapes and obvious topical damage to the stippling of the grip on the right, bottom of the grip (see pics). The mag is used with both side’s slots and the exposed metal rectangle above the slots. . This one has one of the Gen4 extra grip piece installed but does not come with any of the others. This one does include a factory box.
The .40 caliber was designed to be a better option than either of the popular but older 9mm and 45acp alternatives in a sidearm. It has more caliber/diameter and mass than the 9mm while being faster/hotter than 45acp, sort of the best of both worlds. It comes a slight cost though, it does have more felt recoil than either. Like the 9mm it has a fast “snap” to its recoil while also being a heavier “push” like the 45acp, but this does mean a more effective round downrange. It has the advantage of being able to work in the same size/platform as many 9mm pistols (comparably, this Glock 22 is the same size/shape as the original Glock 17) so it also has higher capacity than the 45acp, again, the best of both worlds. The nationwide adoption of 40 S&W ammo by so many law enforcement agencies, in particular this model Glock 22 as the clear winner in that race, ammo manufacturers have kept up with making almost as many offerings for range and defensive ammo in 40 S&W as even 9mm, so the ammo is well supported for this caliber when it comes to stocking up as well as variety. Most every ammo manufacturer makes 40 S&W ammo, in fact most make several options in both range/FMJ and defensive/JHP. If you ONLY have 1 gun, a 40 S&W pistol is a great idea, it is one of the top 3 carry and police issue calibers in the country. Simple/easy to shoot, decent recoil and noise, stocking up on ammo is the some of the cheapest per-round (for centerfire) possible and suppressed, this is the funnest kind of shooting everyone can have.
